Shared Hosting

What is Shared Hosting?
Shared hosting is one of the most popular ways to run your own website without having to worry about maintaining, troubleshooting, or upgrading server hardware/software. The server resources are shared with other users who also have their websites hosted on the same server. Over the years it has gained popularity because of the low prices in comparison to other hosting forms like VPS and dedicated.

You will absolutely love our Elastic Shared Hosting Plans
WARNING! They are addictively Awesome!

CompitentHosting is the 1st Host to offer Scaled Elastic Shared Hosting on Enterprise Servers and Cloud Servers.

What is Unlimited Hosting?
Our logic behind Unlimited Hosting -”Imagine you are in a buffet or an all-you-can-eat restaurant. You are entitled to eat as much as you want. In order words, you are offered “unlimited” food. But we all understand that there is a limit on how much we can eat. In fact, there are a lot of people who only eat a plate or two at a buffet. This is how buffet restaurants make their profit; the customers who eat very little compensate for those who eat a lot. This kind of business model is very similar to how we operate when offering unlimited web hosting. Even though we offer unlimited business hosting web storage/bandwidth, there are always low usage customers to balance out the other high usage customers.

What is Elastic Hosting?
Elastic = Flexible. “Easily resuming original position after being stretched or expanded.”
Our Unique shared elastic hosting plans can be scaled upwards to increase server resources depending upon your websites needs and then again scaled downwards decreasing server resources when you no longer require them. While normally this feature has recently been made available on VPS & Cloud Hosting Plans, CompitentHosting is the 1st Host to provide this flexibility feature for Shared Hosting.

Why Elastic Hosting?
Over the past years we have stood witness to the emergence of CMS (Content Management Systems) as the go to means for websites ranging from individual hobby sites, personal blogs, corporate sites and blogs and portals.

With literally over a few thousand coders and developers contributing additional functionality towards each CMS via plugins/addons/modules if there is anything that you want your website to do -you could do it with minimal or nil coding yourself depending upon the website goals.

While this has made putting together a website really easy, its increased the complexities of running these sites on hosting servers. Each additional plugin/module you use requires additional server resources (viz cpu, memory, write to disk and read from disk to function as intended). Also since these plugins/modules are coded by different people chances are that optimization of code has been overlooked in most cases leading to unknown resource leaks at least till when they are attended to and patched.

From a server administrator’s perspective, WordPress is a dog. Joomla & Drupal is a big dog and Magento and Moodle Bigger Dogs still. With “plugins” WordPress can be a big dog too. Most forums are dogs also — some bigger than others.

Multiply this a couple of hundred times (because of the sites on a shared hosting environment) and you have a shared server set up for disaster. Little wonder that there has been a steady migration to VPS and Dedicated servers for anyone looking to have any decent uptime for their websites. However this does not come cheap as the costs of running a VPS/ Dedi are much higher than conventional shared hosting, add to it costs of control panels, software license fee and server management and before you know it you could double or triple your costs easily. At last but not least you need to be tech savvy to manage your VPS/Dedicated else pay yet more for server management.

At CompitentHosting we came out with our Elastic Hosting solution that gives even the small sites the ability to play with the Big Boys of the web without going the VPS/Dedicated route. We gave it the advantages of VPS/ Dedicated where each site is isolated and contained within its own container providing similar security and stability and fused it with cloud hosting’s scalability of resources on demand, retaining the high affordability of shared hosting.

Think of it as:
Security of VPS + Stability of Dedicated + Scaling of Cloud + Affordability of Shared = Elastic Hosting.

Disadvantages
Regular Shared & Unlimited Hosting

1Higher Entry Price - Compared to CompitentHosting’s Elastic Hosting Plans you will need to invest more to get multiple Cpanel hosting – Between $24.95/mo to $32.95/mo and maybe even more depending upon host

2Unrealistic - You will hit one of the resource limiting factors before you can ever actually use resources mentioned. Get Real there is nothing thats truly unlimited in nature.

3Hidden Resource Utilization Limits - Most host will not spell these out clearly and the few who do disclose it hidden amongst layers of text of Terms of Service which is often overlooked by customers blinded by the “Unlimited” jingoism.

4Restricts Website Growth - Usually sites are suspended immediately for overusage or throttled via scripts that will slow down your site or kill processes without any other option available to you.

5Fixed Resource Utilization Limits - Once you hit the resource limits you either need to upgrade to a more expensive VPS or Dedicated Server or face imminent suspension of services, almost always without prior intimation which can be an agonizing experience.

6Fixed Upgrade Plans - Usually upgrade plans are again with fixed resources which you may not be able to utilize immediately and need additional up-front payment making it yet more expensive. Upgrades almost always will be for full term of your hosting with them.

7Low Site Security - With a single Cpanel if one of your websites are compromised then hacker can easily gain access to all other add-on sites

8Low end Cheap Servers - While providing unlimited hosting at cheap prices. most cheap hosts resort to cutting down on server costs by deploying low end servers with low performance ordinary SATA hard disks leading to yet lesser server power actually available to you.

9Generic Server Settings - To cater to a wide spread of customer demands servers are configured with loose settings utilizing resources like cpu and memory for features that you may never use, thus lowering the resource pool available for you to tap into.

10Encourages Overselling of Servers - hosts with unlimited hosting plans often stuff servers for business viability.Generic Reseller Hosting and Master Reseller hosting add yet further loads to a struggling server reducing your website to a crawl if and when it works.

Advantages
CompitentHosting’s Elastic Hosting

1Low Entry Price - Compared to other Hosting Plans you will need very little investment to get started with our Multiple Independent Cpanel Domain Hosting. You can actually get started from as low as just $ 3.95/mo for a yearly plan.

2Far More Realistic - You will actually be able to avail of 100% resources purchased immediately and only need to add more should your site needs grow.

3Fully Disclosed Resource Usage Limits - Nothing hidden here. Each elastic hosting plan clearly informs you of any resource limitations and exactly what is the maximum resource available to you. We even disclose it upfront for our Unlimited Hosting Plan

4Encourages Website Growth - Allows you to enable and control various types of resources as and when required only and disable them again anytime later should you need to.

5Flexible Resource Utilization Limits - We intimate you anytime you are close to present resource limits so you can instantly increase resources as required without upgrading to a more expensive VPS. Say bye-bye to Surprise Service Suspensions.

6Pay as you Go Upgrade Plans - Addon server resources in small bumps or large leaps whichever your site needs with easy monthly payments and remove or reduce them anytime before the next monthly billing cycle.

7Enhanced Site Security - With independent Cpanel for each domain, there is no scope for compromised security of your other websites, should one get broken into.

8Enterprise Grade Servers - We deploy only branded servers, high end Intel Hyperthreaded Processors, copious amounts of Memory with highspeed low failure SSD Drives with RAID and SAN Storage for Cloud hosting giving you only the best that money can buy.

9Custom Server Settings - We use multiple server architectures to provide scaled efficiency each further tweaked to deliver optimum speed, stability and resource utilization for a diverse range of websites. Whatever type of website you have, we’ve got you covered.

10We never Oversell -Our servers have a maximum amount of resource limits and if we reach this amount, we simply set-up a new server. This means you will not suffer from being short on resources that you have paid for and server overload.

3 Reasons why each Domain hosting MUST HAVE its own CPanel Account

1Additional Security
Having a different Cpanel for each domain gives you added protection against potential hacking should your password get compromised as you can set up each account with a different password and user ID making it another layer required to break thru.
2More Resources Available
Resources are allocated and accounted for per CPanel account basis on the server.Having a different Cpanel for each domain gives each domain full access to the resource limits for your account, which otherwise would be shared across all add-on domains.
3Total Website Control
You can allocate each domain with a separate hosting plan, enabling independent resources as well as other features generally available in Cpanel viz. POP emails, error logs, web statistics, SSL Certificates for each domain etc.
